Woo & Wellness Speed Coaching Event

If you’ve been wondering what it would be like to work with me, there is an opportunity coming up soon to “try me out.” On Saturday, April 27th, I will be one of the coaches at the all-day Woo & Wellness Speed Coaching Event in Seattle, hosted by ChickChat, Three Moon Collective, The Power of She, and Hezalia.

As an attendee, you get to meet with three different coaches for twenty minutes each. It’s a full day of coaching, break-out sessions, healing circles, and—well, a lot of woo-woo stuff. (I don’t really think what I do is all that woo-woo, but apparently it seems that way to other folks. I don’t mind. Whatever helps people learn about Tapping and getting out of their own way so they can create the life they’re meant to live.)woo and wellness

There is also an After Party where I’ll be hanging out to talk with anyone who didn’t get to coach with me during my six sessions. I’ll also be giving away a 3-video series on Tapping for common procrastination problems to all attendees.

When It’s Not Procrastination

Over the last two months I’ve only done things that were essential, like taking care of my eleven year old and meeting with current clients. I haven’t done much of anything else in my business like marketing, networking, or creating these videos, even though those things are very important to me. Instead, I’ve rested, puttered about, and cleaned up the kitchen.

But it wasn’t procrastination.

Watch the video to find out what it was, and when it’s right to step away from your To Do list entirely.

You’ll find there are times in life when you need to stop what you’re doing to celebrate, grieve, or put all your focus on an emergency. When that happens, don’t try to guilt yourself into working anyway. Just promise yourself you will get back to your goals when you’re ready. And be gentle on yourself until then.

Watch the video to find out more.

Of course, if you really are procrastinating and you’re ready to stop so you can create the life you are meant to live, email me. We’ll set up a call to talk about what’s going on with you and see if I can help.

Is Being Gifted Holding You Back?

In the last few months I’ve stumbled across the most counterintuitive cause of procrastination you can imagine. More than half my clients have this problem. It slows them down. It gets in the way of accomplishing their goals. And it has led them to think they’re stupid. Or lazy. Or both.

The cause? Growing up gifted.

Now I truly believe everyone on the planet has gifts to share with the world. I’m not talking about that here. I’m using “gifted” in the technical sense of being really bright or having a high IQ.

You would think that someone who is gifted in that way has it easy. They get a high-paying job that funds a lavish lifestyle without even trying. They just create a brilliant business that changes the world. They easily turn their dreams into reality.

You would be wrong. Those who study the gifted have found that an extremely common outcome for gifted children is that they become underachievers as adults.

If you’re curious about why that would happen watch the video to find out one reason, and what I’ve been doing with my clients to change that outcome.

And please, please, watch the video if:
• You were formally identified as gifted as a child.
• Someone like a teacher mentioned how smart you were in a subject (which may well mean you were gifted even if you weren’t great in other subjects).
• You have a parent or sibling who was very smart (which means you very likely were too, even if something else prevented you from being identified as gifted yourself).
• You have a child you know or suspect is really bright (yep, another indication that you are probably gifted, too).

The video also recommends two resources you can check out that can help you make sense of what you went through and what you can do to achieve more in your life: sengifted.org (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted—SENG) and nwgca.org (the Northwest Gifted Child Association).

The experiences of growing up gifted often lead to conscious or subconscious beliefs that cause someone to procrastinate as an adult. And no one has to keep those beliefs. They can be changed. Watch the video to find out more.

What If Your Life Were Easy?

Over the past year I’ve noticed an interesting cause of procrastination in both my clients and myself.

Sometimes we procrastinate because it has become soooo hard to do something to reach a goal that we subconsciously decide it’s not worth trying.

And because we feel that it’s too hard to achieve our goal, we find ourselves putting off actions that could achieve that goal. Then we wonder why we’re procrastinating.

I’ve discovered a way to help both my clients and myself make things easier so we can reverse our procrastination. It’s a little woowoo, but it works!

Watch the video to find out the simple trick we’ve been using to make our goals—and even our lives—easier.

If you’re ready to stop struggling so hard to create the life you are meant to live, email me. We’ll set up a call to talk about what’s going on with you and see if I can help.

Are You Paying for a Magic Pill?

Do you pay for expensive trainings, groups, or programs, then fail to follow through on what you learned? Or procrastinate so much you never even open them on your computer?

To others it can seem like you expect that just paying the money is a Magic Pill that will bring you whatever you want without your having to lift a finger. But that’s not what’s really going on.

There’s a reason that you get excited about those opportunities but then can’t bring yourself to take action. Watch the video to find out what’s really holding you back from taking advantage of those programs that could change your life, and what to do about it.

Procrastinating Because You’re Nervous? Use Buddha Hands.

If you procrastinate doing something because you know you’ll get anxious, try Buddha Hands.

This technique uses subtle tapping points. You can use it in any situation where you might get nervous, like

  • In an interview
  • Giving a speech, or
  • Going on a blind date.

No one will notice. And it will lower your anxiety right there. Watch the video to see how to do it.

When Your Golden Handcuffs Are Holding You Back

Are you procrastinating on creating the life you want because your job is just too good to leave? Do you say things like:

  • “I’m counting the days until retirement”
  • “I’m bored, but I’ll never find another job that pays as well” or
  • “I can’t do what I want. I have a family to feed.”

If so, your golden handcuffs are keeping you from creating the life you want.

Watch the video to see what I did to unlock my client’s golden handcuffs so she can go after an even better job.

If you want the key to unlock your golden handcuffs, email me. We’ll set up a call to talk about what’s going on with you and see if I can help.

When you can’t get that project done because you’re too tired . . .

Sometimes my clients tell me the reason they procrastinate instead of getting something important done is that they are just too tired to focus. Or be creative. Or even think. And I believe them.

This is a growing problem.

• There’s more and more stress in our lives.
• Stress interferes with our sleep.
• Lack of sleep interferes with our ability to think analytically, concentrate, and be creative.

So when you don’t get enough sleep, it’s harder to think. You might as well procrastinate!

If lack of sleep is one of the reasons you are procrastinating, I may have the answer. You can use Tapping in a specific way to get your brain to transition sooner from wide awake to sleepy thoughts. I show you how to do it in this video.

Use this technique the next time you can’t shut off your brain when your head hits the pillow. It just might help you get a good night’s sleep so you can get more done the next day.

Stop Procrastinating. Go Out and Play!

As kids we’re all taught to get our work done first before . . .
• playing with friends
• watching TV
• having dessert
• really, doing anything fun.
It’s called delayed gratification, and it’s not only a sign of maturity, it’s a skill that’s essential to accomplishing most anything that is important in life.

Most of us have learned to use this approach as an incentive to get ourselves to finish those things we would rather avoid. It makes sense. But, when taken too far, it can actually cause us to procrastinate.

This happened to a client of mine who had been trying very hard to be a good, mature adult who did her chores before going out to play. It backfired and ended up causing her to procrastinate on the very thing she was trying to get herself motivated to do.

Watch the video to see why that happened and how to know when you should chuck delayed gratification in the trash and just Go Out and Play!

Are You Avoiding Something Because It’s Too Draining?

Are you procrastinating, avoiding doing something—even though you know it will bring you closer to creating the life you want—because it drains you?

Dave came to me with exactly that problem. Whenever he tried to make cold calls, he would quickly lose his energy, and even his ability to think clearly. It limited his work days and put a ceiling on how much he could make in his business.

He really wanted to grow his business, but to do that he had to fix the problem. He just didn’t know how.

Watch the video to see what we did to find out what was causing the drain and put the stopper in.

Sometimes it takes a bit of detective work to uncover why something is sapping your energy. Then, when you know where to direct your tapping, you are ready to tap away the cause.

If you would like some help figuring out what’s holding you back from the life you’ve been dreaming of, email me. We’ll set up a call to talk about what’s going on with you and see if I can help.
