End Your Fear of Flying

Does going up in a plane have you…

clutching the armrests, or your spouse’s hand, during take-off and landing,
reaching for medication or alcohol just to get through the ordeal, or
doing anything you can think of to distract yourself?

Do you do everything you can to avoid flying, like…

taking huge amounts of time to drive or take a train to your destination,
turning down promotions that would mean having to fly, or
making excuses for not going to see friends?

Do you miss out on…

going to exciting places you’ve always wanted to see,
visiting elderly parents, or
spending time with your children and grandchildren?

You are not alone. Between 30 and 40 percent of people have some fear of flying. It’s one of the most common fears around. And it blocks people from living the life they want.

But you don’t have to be afraid to fly.

There is a way to overcome fear of flying that works much better than anything you may have tried already. It’s better than telling yourself flying is safer than driving.  It’s better than drugs or alcohol, or relaxation exercises like deep breathing and visualizing a calming place. It’s even more effective than the elaborate desensitization programs that for many people seem to do little more than blunt the fear even after months of work.

It goes straight to the fears programmed into us, and drastically reduces or removes them entirely. And my clients have dropped their fears in an hour. Over the phone. (Read about some of them here.)

It is an increasingy popular technique called EFT. With EFT you can cause your brain to let go of fear by tapping with your own fingers on specific acupressure points while thinking about what triggers your fear. Sometimes the process is very straightforward, and tapping quickly releases the fear. I’ve had numerous clients get over their fear by tapping while focusing on the memory of one bad flight they took. Sometimes we have to do some detective work to get to the root of what really is triggering you. With some clients I’ve discovered hidden causes, like an unfortunate joke about a plane crash that came just at the wrong time or a bad incident in a kiddie pool that led to a fear of flying over water. And with some of my clients we never found out what led to the fear in the first place, but after tapping on every element of a flight they were finally able to get rid of their fear. Certain people can use EFT on their own to get rid of their fears, but it usually helps, especially with intense emotions,  to have someone with experience help you find the sources of your fears and get rid of them.

I’m Nancy Linnerooth, and I’ve worked with clients on fear of flying and other blocks to living fully since 1998, both as a therapist and as a career and business coach. In all that time, I’ve never found a technique that got rid of these blocks more quickly or completely than EFT. I’ve seen clients get over their fears of flying in one session! I have had so much success using EFT that I’m willing to give you your money back if you don’t get over your fear in three sessions.
